Your information.

How we use information from this website and your enquiries.

Last updated: 20 September 2026

Who we are

Ignis Fire Prevention Ltd. is responsible for the personal information described in this notice (the data controller). We are registered in England and Wales, company number 12875232.

For questions about your information or to exercise your rights, email info@ignisfireprevention.com, call 01227 903212, or write to Seagate House, 21 Western Esplanade, Broadstairs, Kent, CT10 1TD.

This notice covers our website and enquiries made through it. It does not describe all processing carried out for project delivery or in the separate Onetrace installation-recording system.

Information and enquiries

Our enquiry form asks for your name, email address and project details. You can also provide your company, phone number, the service required and project location. Optional details help us understand the work but are not needed to send the form. Without the required details, we cannot accept an online enquiry; you can contact us by phone or email instead.

We receive the information you choose to include when you email or call us, together with any subsequent correspondence. Please only include personal information relevant to the enquiry and avoid sensitive information about yourself or other people.

Website requests also disclose technical information to our hosting provider, such as your IP address, requested page, request time and browser information. Form processing includes checks intended to identify spam and abuse.

How information is used

We use enquiry information to understand your requirements, answer questions, discuss proposed work and keep relevant correspondence.

  • If you are an individual asking us to take steps towards a contract with you, we use information necessary to take those steps at your request.
  • If you contact us on behalf of a company or another organisation, we rely on our legitimate interests in responding to business enquiries, preparing proposals and communicating with project representatives. The same basis applies to general enquiries that are not steps towards a contract with you personally.
  • We rely on legitimate interests to operate and protect the website, prevent spam, and retain correspondence needed to resolve queries or disputes. If a legal requirement applies to a particular record, we retain that record to meet that obligation.

The form does not subscribe you to marketing. We do not use it to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you solely by automated means.

Providers and transfers

Netlify hosts this website and processes and stores online enquiries through Netlify Forms. Its form service uses Akismet for spam filtering, alongside a hidden honeypot field in our form. These checks help protect the enquiry service.

Enquiries are handled by Ignis personnel dealing with your request. Website hosting, form-processing and business-email providers process information as needed to provide their services. Our enquiry email address is info@ignisfireprevention.com. Acceptance of a form submission and delivery of an email notification are separate steps.

Netlify is based in the United States and uses international infrastructure and service providers. Information may therefore be processed outside the UK. Its published Data Processing Agreement describes the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for covered transfers, with standard contractual clauses and the UK Addendum as a fallback. You can contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your enquiry and copies of applicable safeguards.

Keeping information

How long an enquiry record is needed depends on whether discussions remain active, whether the enquiry leads to work, and whether correspondence is needed to address an outstanding query, complaint or dispute. Records connected with work may also need to be kept to meet applicable legal and contractual requirements.

These criteria apply to enquiry copies held in form records and business email as well as relevant project correspondence. Contact us if you want to know more about retention of your enquiry or request deletion.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access your personal information, correct it, have it erased, or restrict its use. You may also have a right to receive information you supplied in a portable format where processing is automated and based on consent or a contract.

You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests, including our handling of business enquiries, for reasons relating to your situation.

Contact us using the details above to make a request. We may need information to confirm your identity. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing; we do not require consent to marketing to answer an enquiry.

You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). You do not have to contact us first.

Cookies and site technology

The website does not use analytics, advertising trackers, tracking pixels or embedded maps and videos. Its page code does not set cookies or use localStorage or sessionStorage. Enquiry entries are not saved by our code to browser storage: if sending fails, they remain in the current page so you can try again.

Fonts, images and scripts are served with the website. Your browser may cache these files or offer its own autofill features. The enquiry form uses Netlify’s server-side spam checks and a honeypot, without a CAPTCHA widget.

Links to Google Maps, Onetrace and other external websites only take you to those services when you follow a link. Their own privacy notices apply to your use of those websites.

Changes to this notice

We will update this page and its date when our website’s use of personal information changes. If a change requires us to give you further information directly, we will do so using appropriate contact details we hold.
